Refill with the same type of fluid. Mixing fluids may result in a harmful chemical reaction leading to poor braking performance
Be careful that water does not enter the brake fluid reservoir during refilling. Water will signifi- cantly lower the boiling point of the fluid and may cause vapour lock
CHECKING THE BRAKE PADS/ AIR BLEEDING (HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM)
CHECKING THE BRAKE PADS
1. Operate the brake lever
2. Check:
• Front brake pad
Brake plate §a almost touches the brake disc Replace the brake pads as a set.
See FRONT AND BACK BRAKES in Chapter 7
NOTE:
When bleeding the brake system, ensure that there is always enough brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir before applying the brake lever. Ignoring this precau- tion could allow air to enter the brake system, consi- derably lengthening the bleeding procedure.
j. Tighten the bleed screw Bleed screw
6 Nm (0,6 m•kg)
s WARNING:
Bleed the brake system whenever: The system is disassembled
